Clarity #2 16” x 20”
larity #2 continues my Reflections series, shifting the focus to the interplay between the sky and the shoreline. In this large-scale study, the river serves as a perfect liquid mirror, capturing the soft architecture of passing clouds amidst the vibrant, fiery landscape of a New England autumn.
Using my signature #0 bright brush to apply a thousand dots of passion, I have utilized a focused palette of Viridian, Cobalt, and Ultramarine Blue to anchor the water. This piece explores the "vibrating light" created when the airy, ethereal whites of the cloud reflections meet the deep, structural cool of the river’s depths.
By applying the technical standards of Seurat and the atmospheric color theories of Monet, I’ve captured a moment of total stillness. The hand-applied gold leaf edge acts as a sovereign boundary, containing the expansive energy of the sky within a sanctuary of focus. Clarity #2 is a testament to the "Unfolding Grace" found when the world—and the mind—is still enough to reflect the light above.
